Samyang Roundhill, also known as Samyang Sheep Ranch, is a place where you can enjoy wide open fields, animals, and vibrant nature. Once you visit, you'll want to come back again. Standing on top of the high mountains is a breathtaking experience. While there are many sheep ranches in Korea, Samyang Roundhill is the largest in Asia. If you want to feel the beauty and tranquility of nature, this place is a must-visit.

A romantic and relaxing walk on the trails

A romantic and relaxing walk on the trails from the entrance of Samyang Roundhill, you can take a circular shuttle to Donghae Observatory, located at an altitude of 3,740 feet. While you can get off at various points before reaching the observatory and hike up, it’s recommended to go straight to the observatory to first enjoy the wide-open landscape and then walk down the various walking trails.

From the observatory, you can see not only the high surrounding mountains but also the distant East Sea. You can also see wind turbines up close, and though the whirring sound might be intimidating, it’s a fascinating experience. Samyang Roundhill has more than 50 of these turbines.

The trails of Samyang Roundhill are divided into five sections: ① Hill of the Wind, ② Rest in the Forest, ③ Memory of Love, ④ Walk in the Pasture, ⑤ Rest of Mind. The total length of these trails is about 2.8 miles, and it usually takes an adult at least 1.5 to 2 hours to walk through them all. If you stop to enjoy the scenery, take pictures, and rest, it will take even longer.

Samyang Roundhill offers a total of five recommended courses. While all five are perfect and enjoyable, we particularly recommend the Animal Experience Course, The Photo Zone Course, and The Full Course of Wooden Fence Trail. In addition, you can find various souvenirs and local products representing Gangwon State.

At the Farm Café, you can satisfy your hunger with delicious food. The signature menu includes ① Organic Milk Soft Ice Cream, ② Handmade Hanwoo Beef Burger, ③ Fresh Potato Fries, and ④ Craft Beer. There are many other food options available, so enjoy whatever you like. Of course, the menu can change depending on the season and circumstances, so it's best to check on the spot!
